Growing up without violence, scolding and punishment: Nonviolent Communication and Conflict Resolution with Children
Force, scolding and punishments are not only useless, they are absolutely harmful - not only for the parent-child or teacher-child relationship, but also for the self-esteem and the healthy development of children.
Time and again, arguments. conflicts and crises take place in everyday life with children, and sometimes, this can push us beyond our limits. Conflicts something are a natural and are as much a part of human existence as the air we breathe. They are not negative - on the contrary - they hold the potential for growth, progress and development -not just for our children, but for each and every one of us.
In this workshop, you will learn how to use exactly this positive potential of conflicts and challenging situations with (your) children. You will learn how to understand the message the child is sending you with each and every of its behaviours. I will help you to consolidate, deepen and strengthen the relationship with (your) children.
Together, we will practice new ways of communicating and dealing with the children's and your own anger, fear and frustration in a calm and relaxed manner - even under great stress. This will help you to lovingly and effectively accompany (your) children to learn how to deal with strong feelings and conflicts.
In this course, you will thus acquire valuable skills to give (your) children the best possible support in their mental and emotional development. Furthermore, you will get the opportunity to get to know yourself better, to identify your triggers, to get to know your own limits and needs, and better and lovingly set boundaries.
Based on the latest research in attachment and brain research, neuro- and behavioural biology and developmental psychology, this course teaches the basics of non-violent communication according to Marshall Rosenberg. With the help of the four steps of nonviolent communication, you will be able solve conflicts lovingly and non-violently and improve communication not only with (your) children, but also with your partner, colleagues and in every other relationship.
